Anastasia Beverly Hills brand history

As you probably know and can tell, I really love make-up. Hence I really love different brands and enjoy trying new product from those brands. But most people, including myself, don’t know the backstory to any of these brands, and if they even have a backstory or if they just came out of nowhere? So I decided to start a new series on my blog and tell a brief history on all the brands we love so much.

Firstly, I wanted to start with one of my all time favourite brands, Anastasia Beverly Hills.

Anastasia Beverly Hills brand history

ABH is the brand that started with the brow products. When the starter of the brand, Anastasia Soare, moved from Romania to America in 1989 brows weren’t really a beauty thing yet. No-one did anything with their brows in the United States. This is her and her brand’s story.

Anastasia Soare moved to the United States with her daughter after having waited for three years before they could rejoin with their husband and father who was already there. Because she didn’t speak very good English her husband suggested for her to work as an aesthetician because you didn’t have to control the language perfectly to work there. She worked at a salon in Los Angeles and soon started noticing that nobody did anything with their brows, in Romania it was normal to get your brows done but the owner of the salon wouldn’t hear it. So after a few years she decided to make a change herself and opened her very own salon. She did this in 1997 and by the year 2000 she started creating her own products.

Soare was the first one to introduce brow shaping products. She patented the golden ratio eyebrow shaping method. Which is basically a mathematical solution to always having the perfect brow shape. “Brows should begin directly above the middle of your nostrils. The highest point of the arch should connect the tip of the nose with the middle of the iris. Brows should end where the corner of the nostril connects with the outer corner of the eye,” Anastasia says.

Since the beginning Anastasia Beverly Hills has been an incredibly successful brand that has always been committed to cruelty free product formulation. They are a brand that pays attention to :

Nowadays Anastasia Soare is still CEO of her brand and her daughter, Claudia Soare is president. Personally, Anastasia Beverly Hills is one of my favourite brands and their Modern Renaissance palette is one of my all time favourite palettes. I think Anastasia is an amazing strong woman who has started with literally nothing and has worked her way up. She is an inspiration to all.
