Sorry I have been MIA for a while, I had an exam and a huge paper this week and just didn’t have time to do literally anything else, I have been stuck inside for days trying to finish this and now I finally have! As of yesterday morning I have handed in my very last paper for this block and I now have a good week to not think about uni anymore and take my time to relax and finally give my blog all the attention!
I would like to thank all of you so much for getting me to 100 followers last week! To be honest, getting a 100 followers was my goal for the end of the year and I made it two months early! This blog means so much to me and the fact that more than 100 people like what I write enough for them to follow me is just amazing!
So for today’s post I am doing my very first collab with another blogger! I am collaborating with Hollie from beauty and the bookshelves. We have been talking a bit on twitter and she is such a lovely girl! She loves Halloween and Christmas and just successfully completed blogtober, so if you hadn’t heard from her yet there’s lots of posts to keep you reading for a while!
For our collab I am going to be talking to you about my 5 favourite highlighters (which all happen to be drugstore) and Hollie is going to go through her 5 favourite foundations for acne prone skin. So when you finish reading this post make sure to go on over to her blog to read hers too!
Just a heads up, if you didn’t already know, I love my highlight to be blinding to the point where you can see it from space (okay that might be a bit of an exaggeration but I do like my highlight to be very blinding). So if you’re not that into those type of highlighters you might not like this post so much. But if you are, this post is just right for you.
I included this palette in my last favourites which you can read here and it is safe to say that this is one of my favourite highlighter palettes ever! You get 8 shades (amazing), and there’s something for very fair skin to deeper skin. For my full review on this palette you can click here.
Makeup Revolution Skin Kiss Highlighter in Ice Kiss
Another makeup revolution highlighter (they are just the best). This one comes in this beautiful rose gold packaging, which is also huge(!), you get so much product in here! The actual highlighter is a very nice gold toned shine. It is incredibly pigmented and so beautiful on the cheeks, I absolutely love it.
I know, another makeup revolution highlighter? I told you they were the best! This one is a rainbow one, again, just like the previous two, incredibly pigmented and so beautiful on the cheeks. But what I love about this one is that you essentially get 5 highlighters in one compact travel friendly package. You can choose to only want to wear one specific colour, like purple, and you will have a highlighter with a bit of a purple hue to it. Or you can go all out (my favourite) and pack your brush with all the shades and go for an amazing extra blinding highlight!
Mua Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter in Iridescent Gold
As the packaging says, this is a shimmer highlighter. Some of you may want to stay away from these types of highlighters but I like to embrace them and make my cheeks blind the haters (sneaky reference to Nikki there). This is another gold toned highlighter, I would say it’s more gold toned than the makeup revolution ice kiss one, that one is slightly less out there.
Nyx Duochromatic Illuminating Powder in Twilight Tint
Last, but definitely not least, a highlighter that is a little bit more on the pricier side but still drugstore. I love duochrome anything, I think it’s so fascinating to look at. This highlighter doesn’t exactly fulfil ALL my duochrome dreams (although some) but it does definitely fulfil all my blinding highlighter dreams. It is, yet again, very pigmented. When I bought this, I specifically went for this shade because it was different than any other highlighter I had in my collection. It’s basically a light blue highlighter, which I am all about. I know it might not be for everyone, but maybe for the days when you’re feeling a little more daring and want to experiment.
