I know I’m posting this super late, but hear me out. Because I live overseas and I ordered most these things from English websited, plus they were extra busy because of Black friday, I didn’t actually receive everything until last week.
So Black friday crept up very suddenly… Thanksgiving is not really something we celebrate in Holland and so Black friday wasn’t really something that was I thinking about a lot, until I got that e-mail by Beautybay… And yes, you thought correct, I went a bit crazy. They had 30% off everything! So how can you possibly blame me. But then I came across a post where someone (I cannot remember for the life of me who, so sorry) posted about all the fashion websites that were offering discounts. One of them was boohoo, and they are already so cheap and this makes it all extra cheap so I just couldn’t resist.
FUN FACT: this was actually the first time I ever ordered clothes online. Crazy right
The reason I called this a b-named haul, is because, coincidentally, all websites I ordered from around that time all started with a B. Beautybay, boohoo, and bol.com, which is like a Dutch amazon, and I bought some books from there (again, a B, really coincidental). So in today’s post I thought I would show you everything that I ordered, because I did manage to order from both beautybay and boohoo twice, no more spending on myself this month. It’s just that after black friday, the lovely beautybay went and e-mailed me with select products that I could buy for 50% off… couldn’t resist. Anyway, let’s go to the haul.
Sorry about the image being blurry, I took loads of photos for this post and when I imported them found out about half were blurry but I love this one so much I just didn’t want to leave it out
So let’s start with the two beautybay orders, the important stuff. When I wanted to order from there the first time I was hesitating (tip: never do that when it’s black friday) and didn’t actually order within the first days that the sale started. So by the end of the week, every time I wanted to get on the website there was a freaking long waiting list (I’m talking 8 hours long) and obviously by the time I got on there a lot of what I originally wanted was sold out. But I still managed to grab a couple of products. I am also planning to start a new series on my blog where I talk to you about my monthly beauty purchases at the end of each month and tell you my first impressions, so I won’t be telling you too much in here about how I like the products as I want to test them out a bit more and I’ll tell you by the end of the year!
The first product in my basket was the LASplash Till Midnight Elix’r Water Resistant Eyeshadow Primer. I have been on the hunt for a new eyeshadow primer that actually works, since I haven’t found one yet. It’s not that I had heard particularly much about this primer but I had seen it here and there so I thought I’d give it a try. I don’t actually hear people raving about eyeshadow primers very often, not that I blame them I mean they are not the most exciting of products. So it was a bit of a gamble.
Having 30% for once I couldn’t resist and obviously had to add two shades of my all time favourite liquid lipstick to my collection, the Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks! I bought the shades Androgyny, which I see as the classic and shares his name with one of his eyeshadow palettes. Plus I bought unicorn blood, which I thought would be a very nice deep red for this time of year.
Skincare wise I thought I would buy two product I had been eyeing up for a while but are a little expensive so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to try them out. I bought the Oskia London Renaissance Cleansing Gel. I recently listened to the interview of the creator and owner of this company on Lilly and Anna’s podcast ‘At home with’ and them plus so many other people have been raving so much about this product I just had to see what the hype was about. The second skincare product I wanted to try out is a mask, and any who knows me know that masks are my all time favourite skincare product, ever. So to not walk away with a mask would be literal madness. I bought the zero skin black peel off caviar mask which was actually in my face masks wish list not too long ago.
Lastly, for my first beautybay order, I ordered a morphe brush. The B21 Sable eyeliner brush, just because I don’t have a brush like that and needed it. Simple as that really.
So that was everything I ordered the first time. Just three days later beautybay came with the fantastic offer of 50% off a lot of things, mainly lip products though so that is what this part mainly consists of. But to get the only non lip product out of the way, I bought the Illamasqua beyond powder in Deity, as that was the only one left but that I really liked. I have been looking at this highlighter for aageeees, like seriously aaagees. But at such a high price point I could never bring myself to spend that kind of money on one product, even though it is a highlighter, and we all know the highlighter hoarder that I am. So when I saw this in the list I couldn’t not get it!
To move on, I got two liquid lipsticks, both new ones I had never tried before, and two lipliners by L.A. Girl. The liquid lipsticks are Makeup Geek Plus Lip mattes in Urbanista and the Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid lipstick in Knight Rider. I always love trying new products as you probably know and these shades looked so pretty, perfect for this time of year and not like anything I have in my collection.
Boohoo had 50% off everything in their collection, making it all such a bargain. I don’t think I spend over 15€ on just one product!
As soon as I went on their website the first section I immediately went to was the Christmas jumpers. Being the huge Christmas jumpers and Harry Potter fan you can imagine the little leap of joy I made when I saw this Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Muggle jumper! Then I pressed to add it to my bag and it was sold out in my size! Thankfully the men’s section had the exact same jumper and in my size! I decided to order a size down because I imagined it being too big, and I was right, it still is oversized right now but I like it. I also bought this amazing Ho Ho Ho knitted jumper which I absolutely love and I think is one of my favourite christmas jumpers ever (together with the #elfie jumper I bought in a second hand shop 6 months ago which I am sure I will show you in a post soon).
Next I went to their knitted jumpers section because my wardrobe was seriously lacking in that departement. I saw this really pretty quite short (it’s a little more cropped than I expected but I still like it) knitted jumper and got it in what they call camel. I also got an oversized knitted jumper which looks a bit alike but which is definitely different, in a really pretty mustard colour. Staying on the knitted subject, I bought a cardigan which I’ve had to return because I didn’t like how it fitted me.
I also bought a peg board that I still need to put up in my room and that I am so excited to use for blog photography (update: I have now put it up and started using it in blog photos as you can see in this very post!), and some rose gold metallic confetti which I thought would look really nice in blogpost photos as well.
In my second order I bought two jumpsuits that I can’t wait to wear. This really pretty open back long open flirty striped jumpsuit and a high-necked short jumpsuit in a very pretty burgundy kind of colour. I also saw this gorgeous cut out bralet and I don’t own anything like it so I thought I would pick that up. Then I bought some long knee-ripped dungarees. I own one pair of short dungarees but I’ve really wanted a pair of long ones for soo long, and now I’ve finally got one and I love it. Lastly I also got these flowy black shorts with a belt. Since I don’t own any smart kind of shorts.
Finally, onto the very last website on this list, books. I was intending to buy two books from there, but when do you ever only buy what you intend to buy, I surely never do. I got #girlboss which every single blogger seems to have read so I had to give it a go, and since it wasn’t too expensive. I haven’t started it yet though since I first started to read The Little Book of Hygge and let me just say, this book is so so adorable. Just reading this book puts me in a hygge mood every time. The last book I bought was Quiet the power of introverts in a world that can’t stop talking. Being the introvert that I am this book definitely appealed to me straight away. I heard from it in From Roses’ blog post Cliche blogger reads: which ones are worth it? and I immediately knew I had to get it.
So those were all the things I bought because of Black friday, I realise this has been an extra long post, there was just so much to go through. Let me know if you like these kinds of long posts and also let me know what you bought during the black friday sales!
