Christmas is creeping up on us and since I am not doing blogmas this year I realised I haven’t actually posted that many Christmas related posts. So today I thought I would change that and tell you all the make-up products I love but love even more during Christmas!
These are not all the products you need for a full face, today I am just going to show you some random bits that I think are really Christmassy!
To start off with the base I recently discovered the Charlotte Tilbury Magic foundation and I absolutely fell in love with it! I realise it’s a bit more on the pricier side but if your budget allows I highly suggest you pick this up as it is just phenomenal. It’s medium to high coverage with one layer, and when I really want to step it up a notch I add another layer and it is super full coverage but doesn’t look cakey. It really is just… magic!
Continuing with the base, kind of, I have a highlighter that I love, also a recent discovery. It’s the Illamasqua beyond powder Deity. If you read my B-named haul you would have seen that I bought this because it was half price (!!) and I am so glad that I did because I have been absolutely loving it and using it almost every day. It’s this very nice gold sheen, but it’s not metallic, and I just think it is perfect for Christmas.
Moving on to eyes, I wrote a review on the Jeffree Star Androgyny palette quite a while back and I said I loved it. Recently I have been using it more and more as I think the colours are just so perfect for this time of year. I especially love ‘frosting’, ‘fetish’, ‘deja vu’, ‘charm’ and ‘dominatrix’. Most people go for a red lip during Christmas (me too as you will see in a minute) but I also really love a good red eyeshadow and fetish is just the perfect shade.
Something else I have been loving is coloured eyeliner. I love that all year round but during Christmas is the best time to take out the reds and greens and golds hiding away in your drawer. For my coloured eyeliner fix I always gravitate towards Nyx. Their vivid brights eyeliners can be a little drying, but for the price and the colour range I just don’t think you can go wrong. Something else I absolutely love all year round but love even more during Christmas (and summer) is glitter! I love experimenting with glitter on and around my eyes, hence why I have a pot of glitter in basically every colour. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but personally I think during the festive season it’s the time to go all out. I recently picked up this really pretty kind of reflective glitter from boohoo and I also absolutely love my festival face chunky glitter.
Last but definitely not least, is the L.A. Girl metal liquid lipstick in treasure. This is literally Christmas in a liquid lipstick. Like really. When I first put it on my lips, which it does oh so easily despite it being a bit thick, I immediately thought: wow, this could’ve not been any more Christmassy. So now this is my go-to liquid lipstick as it goes with a lot of the looks I’m wearing right now and a lot of my Christmas jumpers!
