December beauty buys and first impressions

In my B-named haul I showed you guys a HUGE haul with loads of beauty products. I also mentioned I wasn’t going to say much about how I liked them because I was going to start a new series every month where I tell you all my beauty buys of that month and my first impressions. It’s a bit late because of all the other posts I really wanted to post before the end of the year so instead of it coming in December, it’s here in January!

Note: technically I didn’t buy all these products in December (also in November) but I still wanted to include them in case you were curious.

December beauty buys and first imperssions

First off, I ordered two Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks, Unicorn blood and androgyny. I don’t think this needs much explanation as to how much I LOVE these, because I have said it plenty times before on my blog. They are my absolute favourite liquid lipstick formula. Speaking of liquid lipstick I also ordered the Makeup Geek Plush Lip Matte in Urbanista. The colour is absolutely gorgeous, and it doesn’t dry the lips at all, it’s quite moisturising actually. But because of that it’s not very long lasting, it starts to chip and fade quite quickly so you have to reapply quite soon. But if that’s not a problem for you it does have the benefit of not being drying which is what we need in winter. Last lip product I bought was the Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Knight Rider. This is a much deeper purple than the Makeup Geek one, and it is oh so gorgeous. It doesn’t stay on all day but it’s certainly does longer than the makeup geek lipstick. Just make sure to take it with you if you’re going away a while. They both do reapply very smoothly and easily.

Onto lipliners, I bought two by the same brand. The L.A. Girl Ultimate Auto Lipliner in Relentless Red and Unlimited Wine. I am quite short on the lipliner front in my collection so I thought I’d give these a go seeing as they are quite cheap, and boy they are amazing. They are so soft and buttery, they literally need no effort to put on, they are absolutely amazing. Plus for the price, what can go wrong.

I stuck to just one highlighter this time (go me). As I said in my B-named haul, I have been wanting to try the Illamasqua highlighters since forever, so when I saw one of them was half price, I obviously had to grab it. It’s not a normal highlighter but a special one they created to be a little less intense. Now you know me, I am all about the intense highlight, but it’s nice to also have something a little less in my collection. Plus it’s quite easy to build up. It’s this beauty golden highlight which I thought was also perfect for Christmas but which I will definitely be using a lot more this year whenever I feel like toning it down a little.

Last in the make-up section is the L.A. Splash Till Midnight Elixir Water Resistant Eyeshadow Primer. Straight off the bat, I don’t really like this primer. It says on the bottle you have to put it on, let it dry and set with an eyeshadow or a powder. That’s exactly what I do but when I put it on it’s super drying and everytime I wear this my eyeshadow creases like it never usually does. So this is the only make-up product I wasn’t so happy with this month.

Onto the last segment of the post, skincare. Let’s get the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel out the way first, because I didn’t actually get a chance to use it yet. I want to finish the cleanser I have first and then properly give it a go to see if it’s actually as good as people say. The Zeroskin Black Peel Off Caviar Mask on the other hand I have tried, and I love it! It hurts quite a bit when pulling it off, but that to me just shows that it’s properly doing it’s work. Although I wouldn’t recommend this to people with sensitive skin maybe because it did leave my skin a little bit red after.

What beauty products did you buy in December and how did you like them?
