About two months ago I started eyeing up the Charlotte Tilbury magic foundation as I really wanted to try out some high-end foundations and thought this was the best place to start! I had been eyeing up Charlotte Tilbury make-up for a while already after literally every single blogger has at least one lipstick and another product in their collection and I only ever hear good things about the brand.
So when I read Chloe Alice’s blog post on the Beauty Icons box I knew that was the perfect place for me to start to discover Charlotte Tilbury make-up. I bought the foundation and the box at the end of November and I’ve been using it for a good month and a half now so I wanted to give you mini reviews of what I think of everything!
I’ve talked quite a lot about the Charlotte Tilbury foundation in quite a few posts. You can read about it here and here. The main focus for today is going to be on the beauty icons box!! Everything comes very neatly in a beautiful box which I have kept to put things in (I don’t know what yet though). Let’s start off with the Wonder Glow primer. I have mentioned before that I am not the best at judging if primers work or not in terms of making my foundation last longer, but I don’t necessarily like this primer for what it says it’s supposed to do which is give you a glow (as the name suggests). I know there’s been a lot of rave about this product but I guess it’s just not for me.
The full fat lashes mascara on the other hand is definitely one for me! The very first time I tried it I wasn’t particularly blown away by it, but I decided to give it another go and now I am obsessed! It gives me so much volume and length and there is absolutely no clumpyness at all! It’s seriously gone up to the level of my Stila Cosmetics huge extreme lash mascara, and we all know how much I love that one!
There were two lip products in this box, one of them being a full size of the cult favourite re-shape and re-size lip liner in Pillow Talk. As for the colour, it is not my favourite, simply because I don’t wear pink that often, and this is a very light soft pink which I wear even less. Formula wise though, I do really like it. It’s creamy, just how I like. It could slide onto the lips a little easier but that’s just getting to the nitty gritty of things. For lipstick I got the shade penelope pink. Again, it’s a little too light for me as it barely shows up on my lips! It is incredibly creamy and hydrating though and having heard so much good about these lipsticks I am desperate to try out another darker shade!
Last in the box is another cult favourite, the Charlotte’s Magic Cream. In terms of moisturiser I am not particularly fussy which one I use in my skincare routine, as long as it does the job. So it’s not like this one ‘woo’d’ me away but I did like it. It feels like a really good thick moisturiser which sinks into the skin very nicely. I am not using it daily though because the price. I can’t possibly buy a new one of these so I’m saving it and using it on special days when I am going somewhere important and want to treat my skin a little more than usual.
When buying all of these products in store, I got a free small size of the Scent of a Dream perfume as well! This perfume is so amazing, I can already tell you that when I run out of this I am going to have to buy a new one (which my bank account is not going to be happy with but I definitely will!) I talk a bit more about why I love this perfume so much in my 2017 beauty favourites!
Overall I am really loving Charlotte Tilbury as a brand. I am definitely going to try out some more of their products this year!
