My kind of minimal make-up look

I’ve been gravitating to a more minimal make-up look the past couple of weeks. Maybe it’s because of January and I don’t feel like doing anything. Or maybe it’s ’cause I had to study so much up until last week so I didn’t feel like doing much with my make-up. (Actually, yeah, it’s definitely that one). For the days when I don’t want to put in too much effort but still want to look decent, in come the minimal make-up look. I know that there are going to be other people whose minimal look is so much more minimal than mine, but hey, that’s the power of beauty (how many more times am I going to say minimal make-up look?). That’s why this is my kind of minimal make-up look! (Okay, so just one more)

Minimal make-up look

I start off with any primer I fancy. Recently I’ve been reaching for the Nyx Cosmetics Angel Veil Primer, you can read my review on that here. Then I opt for the L.A. Girl BB Cream, I’m in the shade Light. It’s really lightweight but just gives me that extra little bit of coverage that I’m looking for on days like these without it being too much. For concealer I’ve been using the L.A. Girl Pro Conceal Concealer in Porcelain. It conceals my under eyes as well as brightens them and for the price, you can’t really go wrong! To set it all in place I use the Nyx Cosmetics HD Finishing Powder in Translucent.

For my brows I will use the Freedom Duo Brow Powder in Ash Brown. It’s not too pigmented so you do need to build it up but that also means that it’s harder to mess up. To set them in place I use my all time favourite ABH Clear Brow Gel. I got two of these in two BeautyBay goody bags (btw total sidenote, how do you like their new logo? If I’m honest I prefer the previous one) a while back and I am dreading the day they run out because they are hella expensive.

On my face I will keep it simple but I do want to contour ever so slightly. I use the Affect Glamour Pressed Bronzer in G-0002. It’s my perfect contour shade in winter. Though it seems like this shade has been discontinued because I can’t find it on their website unfortunately. On top I will use the Makeup Revolution Ultra Bronze Bronzer. This one is not too pigmented which is perfect to really be able to build it up and not go all rogue immediately. Normally I skip blush on these days and go straight to highlighter. My highlighter of choice at the moment is the Illamasqua Beyond Powder in Deity as it’s the most subtle one I have but still gives a perfect sheen.

Naturally, for eyes I will keep it simple in terms of eyeshadow but I still want my lashes to be voluminous. I will grab my holy grail Stila Huge Extreme Lash mascara, which I talked about in my 2017 beauty favourites. It’s amazing for anyone who wants big voluminous lashes! The wand is a little too big for my under eye lashes so there I will go in with the Code VLM mini mascara, another thing I got in a BeautyBay goody bag. These leave my under eye lashes super voluminous but without the mascara smudging everywhere during application. I will finish off with a little (or a lottle) spray of the Nyx Matte setting spray to set everything in place.
