This week has been quite a boring week, unfortunately. I’ve had to stay inside almost all week and write write write my final paper for the last course of this block. We’ve had to interview people, transcribe the interviews, label them, categorise them, put them into themes. And then analyse them and write it up. Not to forget then also write the theoretical framework, the method, the introduction…
It’s been a long week to say the least, and the long week won’t be over till Thursday for me which is when I hand in the paper and will hopefully finally be free. Except then on Friday I get the results back from my other final paper and we’ll see how that went. *insert crying emoji right about now*
10 things I’m loving this week
Hour more of sunlight | The clock have gone forward! The one hour sleep less on Saturday didn’t actually really bother me as I didn’t have to go anywhere on Sunday so I set my alarm for an hour later to make up for it. I have been getting some trouble with waking up at 7 again though, I guess my body is still adapting that it’s not 6 when my alarm goes off, it is indeed 7.
But the extra hour of light has been so worth all the hassle. I love looking outside in the evening and it not being dark until quite late. And it’s getting only later every day, now it’s going quite quickly. Plus, my body not adjusting itself yet, has led to me working in bed numerous times which I don’t think is a bad thing at all, and now I totally have an excuse.
My phone charges properly again | For like a couple of weeks my phone wouldn’t charge properly. I had to put the charger in the phone, then put it on a book and put some books on top so that it would be at an angle and it would charge. Then on Tuesday, my phone died because the battery was at 0%, I tried charging it and it wouldn’t work. I was incredibly worried as you can imagine, what if I can’t turn my phone on at all anymore?
So I decided I would go to the city and ask at an apple store. I gave the phone to the guy and whilst I was explaining what was going on he took like one of those pin things and started poking in the hole for the charger, got out a piece of fluff and said: that was your problem. And just like that it was fixed, no more stacking books on my night stand whenever I need to charge my phone.
Riverdale | I started and finished watching Riverdale this week. I had been wanting to start it for ages but there was always some other show that came first. I finally started it on Wednesday and OMG. It has taken first place as my favourite tv show. It is so amazing, I can’t wait for the new episodes to come out and I really hope they keep making more seasons. Are you team Serpents or team Lodge? I’m definitely team Serpents, plus Colyn Sprouse is my new celeb crush!
Studying at Gys | Last week I wrote a post on eating vegan and gluten free at Gys. Which has now quickly become my favourite restaurant in Utrecht. For the lovely decor, nice staff, amazing food and drinks. I needed a change of scenery when I was studying Thursday so I went to Gys to finish off my analysis for the paper. I ordered myself an iced latte and just sat there for 4 hours, it was great just getting out of the house and studying somewhere else so I think I might do that again on Tuesday.
Weekend away with the whole family | On Friday we all (by we I mean my sister, brother and me with all our boyfriends/girlfriends/children) went up north to visit our aunt, uncle and cousins. Since most of us don’t get to see each other a lot because we live in very different parts of the country, we organised a cousins weekend away. We didn’t rent to stay anywhere or anything, we stayed at our uncles and aunts house and it was so much fun!
Hiding easter eggs | On Saturday morning my sister, cousin and me hid a lot of easter eggs, 125 of them! Then the rest of the family started looking. I used to absolutely love finding easter eggs but now I’m more into hiding them as I love people getting so excited about finding one. Obviously we ate a few after, me eating the dark chocolate ones and they were delish.
The body shop banana hair care range | When I went to the apple store on Tuesday I left my phone there to charge for twenty minutes to see if it would actually charge, because we wouldn’t know until it turns on. So I took the chance to go to the body shop to get the camomille balm which I’ve been wanting to try since forever and now my other make-up remover is finally done.
While I was there I had a stroll around and saw the banana range shampoo and conditioner. I always suffer from frizzy hair especially at the ends. Yet since my hair is quite long now a lot of my hair underneath my shoulders suffer from frizziness. I already had the banana hair mask at home and every time I use it my hair looks amazing after, no frizziness whatsoever. So in the spur of the moment I decided to get the shampoo and conditioner too, as the mask as been so good for me. I have only used the banana shampoo once but first impression: I love it! But I will report on it later when I’ve tried it out a couple more times!
Easter dinner | On Sunday it was my boyfriend’s family’s turn to see us as we went to my boyfriend’s mum for easter dinner. His sisters and boyfriend and girlfriend were there too and we had a gourmet which was amazing. As usual with gourmet I ate so much and had a food belly up until I went to sleep basically.
Nice nails | Some time this week I saw Jasmine Dowling‘s instagram story of how she had painted her nails. I thought it looked super cute so I recreated it. I painted them like a light purple with a dark brown dot in the middle. I think it looks super cute and its inspired me to do more nail art in the future.
Ocean lights | A few weeks ago my boyfriend bought this light that shines in the form of the ocean. It can go different colours, it can move or not and you can even connect your music to it. Although we don’t really do that. It’s very nice as it gives quite a calming effect and just feels like you’re in one of those underwater hotels, albeit a cheaper version probably.
