So it’s been a while. I missed last week’s loving post because I didn’t have a website! Let me explain. I tried to get into AWIN, which is a site where you can get collaborations with brands. To sign up you have to add a HTML line to your HTML code of your website. I tried doing that and it constantly just wouldn’t work. So eventually I must have done something wrong and the whole code from one box disappeared. It was so stupid and I felt so disheartened. I immediately e-mailed pigdig, they took two days to respond – in which I didn’t feel like doing anything – but then fixed the problem just like that. I seriously couldn’t have been happier with their amazing service.
But that did mean that my website was down for two days, which didn’t particularly do anything for my motivation so I skipped two posting days and didn’t want to have only favourites post so decided to skip last week. So here’s 10 thing I’ve been loving over the last two weeks!
10 things I’m loving this week
Dinner and coffee with the family | My dad went back to Spain last week. So as a goodbye we always have dinner together with all the brothers and sisters. Being that it was my dad’s goodbye dinner we obviously had Chinese, his Dutch favourite (ironic isn’t it?)
The day that he left we had a morning to spent so we went to my brother’s place, had a drink there and then went to a really cute cafe under a mill where we had a last coffee with my sister before she brought him to the airport and I went on home.
Lunch with uni friends | Some uni friends and I always meet to have lunch after finishing a semester of classes. This time was not different, the only thing that was different was that we could actually sit outside in the sun (me with sunglasses on obviously), which was nice! We ate pancakes as one of my friends was craving them badly. We didn’t understand the lady who was serving us several times and she didn’t even know they had vegan pancakes but the food was really good and the company was great.
Olympus Pen EP-L8 | After a LOT of debating, thinking about it and discussing it with some people I finally took the plunge and invested in my first camera! Technically not my very first camera but it is the first camera I ever bought. I heard so many good things about the Olympus pen (seems to be a very blogger camera), but for right reason. I did some research into a lot of cameras and decided that the Olympus Pen EP-L 8 with a 45 mm lens (the one that shoots portrait mode really well, with the blurry background) is the best for me. Very cliche I know but I seriously couldn’t be happier with it!
Iphone 7 | Two big technological purchases this week! My contract on my iPhone 6 was coming to an end so I decided to move telephone company and get a contract for an iPhone 7! To some it might seem an unnecessary purchase, and maybe it is, but it’s costing me exactly as much as the last one and I’m already noticing the difference hugely. It’s so much more speedy, better camera, better sound, more space, I’m loving it!
Shorts weather | I’m sure no-one has gone through the week without noticing the sun (and if you haven’t gone outside Instagram won’t have let you forget it). It was actually warm enough almost throughout the whole week to wear shorts, so that’s exactly what I did. I even already got a bit of a tan.
Maarseveenseplassen | In light of the sun making an appearance I thought it was the best time to take my first trip to the Maarseveenseplassen, which is a lake just outside the city of Utrecht, on cycling distance. So I asked a friend if she wanted to join me and off we went. I love going there when it warms up, it was a little too cold to swim in the lake yet but I had the best time anyway.
An underground restaurant | After staying at the lakes we went to the city to grab a bite to eat. She had found this restaurant that makes a dish every Wednesday of all the food that’s still fine but the supermarkets don’t want to sell because it’s “ugly”. I thought it was an amazing idea, and there’s not a set price you have to pay, you just take some food and make whatever donation you like! We had rice, salad and curry, the curry was extremely spicy, a little too spicy for our liking, but good all the same.
Picnics in the grass | With it being shorts weather and me having vacation you wouldn’t think I was going to say no to sitting on the grass right outside my door in the sun with a good book would you? I took my blanket out quite a few times this week and just sat there reading (currently reading Lone Wolf by Jodi Picoult). My boyfriend is also a big fan of just relaxing outside so I think this will be much more of an occurrence now that the sun is coming out more.
Photo session | On Sunday I asked my lovely boyfriend if he could take some photos of me outside for my blog. It was the first time I actually took my camera outside to take photos and they turned out amazing! I had quite a lot of fun doing it and even though my boyfriend kept saying that he should’ve done them wrong on purpose (because now I’m gonna ask him to take photos more often) I know he secretly enjoyed himself. You will be seeing these photos on the blog sporadically. He’s a real instagram boyfriend now.
Tempeh fish tacos | After a photo session and another picnic in the park on Sunday we made tempeh fish tacos. We make them every now and again as they are quite a hassle but so incredibly delicious. Normally I really don’t like tempeh but made in this form, it’s amazing!
