10 things I’m loving this week #8

This week has been my first week back at uni after the two week holiday. I have not (yet) gotten behind thankfully and I’d like to keep it that way. I want to go to a festival at the end of June before all of my papers are handed in plus there’s loads of deadlines very close to each other right before the weekend festival so if I want to be able to go I need to be organised, planned and have everything done in time. That means starting now and not ever getting behind.

That’s why I am really glad that I have Monday’s off. At least that way, if for some reason I didn’t do much on Sunday (let’s be real, happens almost every week) I can catch up with everything on Monday and “start” the week fresh on Tuesday (with a 9am class).

10 things I’m loving this week

Blogger of the month | I forgot to mention last week but but the lovely Rachel who runs the blog Another Station, Another Mile featured me as blogger of the month! I am always honoured to hear that people read my blog and like it! It’s the most amazing thing to hear people say that they like what I write and like my blog overall.

I answered some questions for her so if you want to check out her blog post you can go here!

Last easter eggs | On Monday I went to uni to print out some stuff and decided to stay to study a bit. That morning I was trying to put together some snacks, feeling lost about what to bring I looked in my bag and suddenly found the last pack of mini easter eggs! Next to money, chocolate is probably the best thing to re-find. Safe to say I was set for snacks then and enjoyed the last easter eggs whilst I was studying,

Nephew’s birthday | After studying in the library on Monday it was my nephew’s birthday and we celebrated with lots of cupcakes (although not for him of course). It was just close family and one close friend and it was loads of fun. My brother’s girlfriend made four different types of cupcakes, one of them being a vegan chocolate one! I don’t know how the other ones tasted – although by the sounds of it delicious – but the chocolate one tasted amazing. And since I could only eat that one, the whole tray was for me. I was a happy bunny haha

Tv quiz | The tutor for the package I chose at uni (television) organises a television quiz annually. This time it was centered around royalty because it was kingsday that Friday. I was a bit bummed about it being royalty oriented because I don’t know ANYTHING about royalty. But in the end not every round was concerning this theme and it was loads of fun anyway! Plus we came third which I think is pretty well done!

Avengers: infinity war | Ever since I saw the trailer for this movie for the first time I have been excited to go see it. I even specifically wanted to go see it in the first room of my local cinema because it has laser 3D and amazing surround sound.

The movie is pretty long, but I was not bored one second. I loved it all the time and I absolutely loved that there were so many different characters involved and consequently so many different story lines that eventually all end up in the same place. We were told in the cinema that the directors guessed there were approximately 48 main characters in the movie but that they’d actually lost track themselves.

What I love most about this avengers is that they included the guardians of the galaxy in it! A mixture of different movies from the same universe is always good in my book. I definitely can’t wait for the sequel next year

Passed all my subjects | I don’t think I mentioned this yet before – which is weird because I’m always talking about my papers – but for my previous subject I handed in a really difficult paper that I was sure I blew up. I was certain I was gonna fail. If not for the analysis for my Dutch writing because I didn’t have time to let my dad look through it for any spelling mistakes.

Then last week the grades FINALLY went online (they were supposed to be online about a week before) and I saw that I have a 6.6! How amazing is that! I definitely didn’t feel like re-doing the paper but had kind of given in to the fact that I might just have to. Thankfully, it’s all good and I can leave the past two subjects behind me!

PRSPCT XL 27 | After two months of not going out – which to be fair isn’t that long for me – it was party time again on Saturday. My boyfriend, some friends and me went to a drum ‘n bass and hardcore party Saturday night. This party is held twice a year in Rotterdam and we go basically every time, this was my fourth time there.

I have to be honest, the music wasn’t as great as before. There was also one stage less which was kind of disappointing. But the atmosphere and the people were, as usual, still amazing and really nice.

Most delicious hangover food | You can’t have a party without a hangover the next day right? After much debating if it was a good idea to pop to the store to get some food to make a wrap, my boyfriend convinced me and we I ate a vegan chicken nugget wrap – my boyfriend at a non-vegan hamburger wrap. It was the most amazing hangover food. Nice, dirty fast food, just how it’s meant to be.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery | Unless you’ve been living under a rock you probably will have heard of the new Harry Potter game. I am so glad I got my new iPhone 7 before this game came out, as I don’t think my iPhone 6 would have had the storage.

It’s a game set after Harry Potter just left school after defeating Voldemort – although You Know Who is still mentioned which I find a little strange, because, wasn’t he dead? You make your own character, learn magic, make friends and enemies and basically wonder around Hogwarts. I have been loving it so far. The most impressive thing about the game though, I would have to say, are the graphics. It’s all an exact replica of the books and the movies and it’s so amazing to be part of the world yourself.

Best monthly page views yet | I don’t think I have to mention yet again that I know blogging is not about numbers and stuff but that they’re a nice little bonus – plus if you’re serious about blogging and want to make an income, actually, numbers are really important for brands. That aside, I have had the best month for page views yet! The last three months actually the charts have only been going up.

I owe it all to StumbleUpon and Pinterest, they are definitely bringing in most of my traffic which is amazing! After reading Fee’s post I have started using Pinterest so much more and I now have a much better strategy for it which I think is the cause for my views sky-rocking both on Pinterest itself and on my blog. I am also part of a StumbleUpon pod on Instagram so I always know that my posts are going to be stumbled by other people.

If you’re looking for ways to up your marketing game definitely check out Fee’s post, make a StumbleUpon account (if you don’t have one already) and make a StumbleUpon pod where everyone stumbles each others posts!
