10 things I’m loving this week #10

Another week, another favourites. I love these to reflect on the previous week. Even when I haven’t actually done much there’s always some things to be found which really makes me appreciate the little things (except last week, bummer). And exactly that I did this week, not much at all. That is why it is mostly tv-shows and movies on the list, because I have been spending most of my time on the couch in front of the tv. But hey, everyone needs those kinds of weeks right?

10 things I’m loving this week

Doctor Strange | At the beginning of the week (Sunday actually but we finished watching it this week) we watched Doctor Strange. Ever since watching the latest Avengers I’ve wanted to watch his movie more than anything. Anything to do with magic I am all over – HELLO Harry Potter – so I was intrigued by this movie. I must say, I was happily surprised, the story wasn’t exactly how I had imagined it, but actually even better!

Jazz dance | My study association organised jazz lessons for this block, 6 lessons in total. I have always loved dancing, I danced flamenco for 7 years when I was younger and during my theatre classes two years ago there was also a dance class that I really enjoyed so when this came in my inbox I immediately signed up!

The first class was last Wednesday, we filmed it so that we could practice at home. I am really bad if I say so myself, but it doesn’t matter because I had the best time! I might even sign up to dance classes after these finish.

Picnic at the Maarseveenseplassen | The combination of really warm weather and my boyfriend being off extra early on Wednesday gave me the idea to go on a picnic at the Maarseveensplassen. It was the first time I wore my bikini this year, even if I didn’t swim. We made some things to eat at home and took it with us (mental note: buy a cooling element, worst thing is having cold food and drinks and having to leave it an a cool bag with no cooling element!)

My boyfriend wasn’t very impressed by the Maarseveenseplassen unfortunately, but I told him that we would go again when it was a little warmer and we could swim because that is by far the best part of going there!

A week off | Because of Ascension Day (is that what it is in English?) and the day it fell this year I only had class on Tuesday and had the rest of the week off. I would love to say that I took complete advantage of my free time and got lots done, but unfortunately I was the most unproductive yet this month – or maybe even year. But I’m not going to feel guilty about it because everyone needs some time like that.

A new routine | Having said that, I didn’t want this unproductiveness to continue because the previous week hadn’t been my best either. So on Saturday I decided to give myself some ‘guidelines’ or ‘rules’ plus I decided that I would start my week off on Sunday and have a set Sunday routine, or at least some things I want to get done on Sunday so that I can start the week well.

Some of these things include painting my nails, putting on a face mask, tidying the house, doing the washing (if necessary), washing my make-up brushes (also if necessary) and write this post! But I am also letting myself do everything at my own time with lots of breaks because it is Sunday after all, so relaxing is also important. Plus I have given myself the task that I have to go outside every day, even if it’s just for a little while, because sitting inside is definitely not good for my productivity and it gives me a headache.

Gilmore Girls A Year In The Life | On Friday I finished watching Gilmore Girls and on Saturday I finished watching Gilmore Girls A Year In The Life (you make the calculation of how many hours of tv that was). Even though I had only finished watching Gilmore Girls about an hour before watching the mini series there was some serious nostalgia going on there. I loved seeing everyone 10 years older and it definitely seemed like nothing had changed!

I am really glad that they made this series as I loved seeing what everyone was up to. Yet I was very disappointed with the ending, they seriously can’t leave it like that, it’s a complete open ending! I did hear that they might make a second season of the mini series, just not on Netflix. I really hope they do, and that it doesn’t take 10 years!

Won at table football | From the moment we bought the table football I knew my boyfriend was quite a bit better at it than me and I knew I had to practice quite a bit to get up to his level. Well I’m getting there! From all the times we’ve played I have now won from him 4 times! Which might not seem like much considering we play every spare minute we have, but I also noticed that even if I lose, the point difference is much less and the amount of time the ball is on the field before someone scores is getting longer and longer, sounds like improvement to me!

Eurovision | For some reason I always miss the fact that Eurovision is back! I always always miss the semi finals, thankfully I saw on twitter (my saviour) that the finals was this Saturday so obviously I couldn’t miss it! My favourite act was definitely the Czech Republic and Spain. Everyone seemed to hate Spain but I thought it was such a nice love ballad and they seemed truly happy on that stage together, and there’s nothing betters to see than that I think.

I really liked our Dutch entry as well, very rock country which I am totally into. Found those dancers a little bit weird though I must say! Although unfortunately the rest of Europe didn’t seem to agree and preferred Israel, who were truly good (apart from the cultural appropriation).

You let me walk alone | Another one of my favourites from Eurovision was definitely Germany. Michael looks and sounds like Ed Sheeran and I am totally digging it. You let me walk alone is the song he sang, a song remembering his father who sadly passed away when he was 14.

This song has instantly become my new favourite song and I am sure this guy is going to come very far with his music.

Queer Eye | I have finally started watching Queer Eye! After hearing so much about it and every other person raving about it I caved, well, more that I was always going to watch it anyway but had to finish my previous series first. I am absolutely obsessed now!

I love that instead of wanting to make someone over completely (like many other shows do), making someone loose weight or completely changing someone’s face or haircut they take into consideration what that person already likes and asks what he wants and they do something with that. And the boys are just amazing, I love the way they treat the person in question and how they can completely switch up their confidence. No YOU cried!
