Summer is nearly here! If you’ve been wondering where I’ve been, I’ve been writing and studying away for about 2 and a half weeks. I just handed in a paper, this Friday I have an exam, next wednesday is my last paper and then I am done for the year! It has been quite a ride, especially since I’ve started and finished everything about a week before everyone else because I have a festival this weekend (more on that below).
So before summer officially starts for me I wanted to share with you all the plans I have lined up for these coming two to three months as I am really really excited for them.
Let’s start with arguably the most fun part shall we? FESTIVALS! Oh how fun they are. Like I said, this weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday and returning on Monday – yes, I am in for a TREAT) it’s my all-time favourite festival, Defqon.1. If you see any photo of me on Instagram or on my blog (such as these photos here) you will always see two things around my wrist, those are the festival bands of last year and the year before Defqon.1.
That is how much I love this festival, I’m keeping the band on my wrist for 2 whole years (and counting) for keepsake. And I’m not planning on taking them off just yet.
So that’s the first thing that will be happening. Then skipping quite a big chunck, at the beginning of September there is another festival which I have gone to for the previous two years called Ground Zero which I am more than excited for to go again this year.
That’s all I have planned for now but I am sure some other festival will come up during the summer months.
For another exciting part of summer (and THE thing that you’re always asked about – where are you traveling to this summer?). I have my tickets booked for Spain the last two weeks of August. This time I will be going alone instead of the whole gang including my sister, boyfriend, kids and sister’s boyfriend.
I say I will go alone, in actual fact I will travel alone but there I am greeted (and picked up, hopefully) by my mum and little sister, my step-mum and step-sister are also home (although not in the same house obviously, that would be weird) and I have loads of friends that I can’t wait to see again when I arrive.
Apart from Spain, my boyfriend and I are planning on driving up to Copenhagen to go camping there for a week. We want to make a stop for a night in Hamburg, since the drive is pretty long and I’ve heard many good things of that city. Then keep going, stay in Copenhagen for about 5 or 6 nights and do the same on the way back.
I have already looked up EVERYTHING we can possibly do there from activities, museums, parks, transportation, where to eat, which are the best campings. Now it’s just a matter of sitting down, figuring out when we can actually go (because it all depends on my boyfriend’s job) and then booking everything!
All these fancy (or not, I mean we’re going camping c’ommon) trips and festivals definitely don’t take up the full extent of the summer. I will still have many weeks right here in the beautiful country I call home where I will also do many other things apart from party.
Firstly, my parents and little sister are coming round – my dad is actually arriving on national mojito day, so you know what I’m making! – plus I’ll have a lot more free time on my hands because I’ll be done with uni so I am planning on spending a LOT of time on my blog. I definitely want to grow it this summer so there’s gonna be a lot of hours put into that.
And apart from that I will be spending time with my parents who flew over, and the rest of my family obviously plus my boyfriend whenever he doesn’t have to work and friends.
One of my goals this summer is to go to the gym at least 3 times a week, but more is always welcome. Also spring clean the house, although I realise it would be summer clean now, because I didn’t have time to properly spring clean during spring in all the places I wanted to. This will probably be at the beginning of July before my dad comes so it’s all nice when he arrives. Lastly I need to sort all the admin out with me studying abroad in September, but that’s just a matter of waiting now and filling out documents whenever they’re ready.
